He stated that the suspicion involves the case concerning the departure of men abroad. According to him, during his tenure, exit permits were issued based on letters of support signed by the minister, and one such case involved individuals who did not return. The National Police announced that the suspicion is part of an investigation into a scheme uncovered in April 2026, which involved not only Karandieiev but also other participants, including a former deputy of the Ministry of Culture, who facilitated this illegal activity via signed letters from the ministry.
